The history of comics
Covering the history of the ninth art from its origins to the present day, from its European - and particularly Franco-Belgian - cradle, with a special focus on its development on the other side of the Atlantic, the Comic Strip Museum takes visitors behind the scenes and reveals the creative process through film extracts and rare documents, highlighting anthology plates by the greatest masters. Awarded the "Musée de France" label in 2003, it provides a better understanding of a major folk art of our time, its history, techniques and aesthetics, thanks to an original and innovative scenography. On the first Sunday of every month (except July and August), the Cité invites you to discover the comic strip museum and exhibitions free of charge.
