During your visit, explore our specialised bookshop, which offers over 12,000 titles, our library where you can relax and read, our arthouse cinema, and finally, our workshops and visits.

The Angoulême Comic Strip Museum bookshop is "one of the most of the biggest bookshops devoted to the 9th art" according to Livres Hebdo magazine; it is one of the top 10 specialist comic bookshops in France. On 270 m2 at the entrance of the  Museum, it offers more than 12,000 items.
Its collection represents the richness and diversity of comics publishing. The bookstore is an original presentation of the selection to help visitors, whether specialists or novices, to find their way among the 5,000 new titles each year. As both a specialist bookshop and a museum bookshop, it provides a link between heritage comics and contemporary art. A team of  specialised booksellers is at your service to help you find what you're looking for and give you personalised advice.

You can order all the comics available individually. Accessible 24/7 via its website, the bookshop relays all its news, meetings, numerous selections and offers you the opportunity to place orders or make reservations thanks to its click and collect service. www.librairie.citebd.org

The library has more than 55,700 comics, which can be consulted on site or borrowed. Its teams also lend out trunks of albums to local authorities, to support mediation initiatives in schools, social or cultural environments.
Throughout the year, the library organises events, welcomes groups and offers activities around comics, encouraging people to discover, read and share the 9th art.
As part of the network of libraries in Charente and the GrandAngoulême area, the library also organises training sessions for librarians and also for abroad librarians. These courses cover various aspects of comics, including how to set up and run comic collections and the history of the 9th art

The library catalogue is available at https://bibliotheque.citebd.org. The library is located at the Vaisseau Moebius: 121 rue de Bordeaux, Angoulême

The equipment
In respect for the works and the public, the halls are equipped with a mobile phone scrambling system and magnetic loops for the hearing impaired, and are accessible to people with reduced mobility.

Whether you're in a group or with the family, our team will be on hand to take you on an immersive exploration! Through our permanent and temporary exhibitions, plunge into the heart of comics, the heart of the Cité, by discovering its history, its techniques and its emblematic characters.  Our approach naturally extends to the cinema: we highlight the continuity of narrative images, whether they are still on the boards or animated on the big screen.

Various activities are offered throughout the year, for the public to discover, practice and deepen their relationship with comics:

-A day at the Cité, for groups, offers the chance to combine a visit to the exhibitions, a creative workshop and a screening of a film in the cinema, for a complete immersion in the world of comics and the moving image.
- Wednesday comic strip classes, run by a comic strip artist, give young people a regular introduction to drawing and graphic storytelling.
-Visits and workshops, organised in conjunction with the exhibition programme, combine the discovery of works of art with artistic practice.
- Courses, supervised by comics or publishing professionals, are offered on a scheduled basis. They offer the opportunity to deepen your knowledge or develop your skills in a stimulating environment.
- Special training courses are also available for teachers, mediators and cultural facilitators, to help them set up educational projects based on comics.
- Finally, a newsletter, sent out every two months, keeps you up to date with all the latest educational news from the Cité, as well as the latest news and resources available.

The painted walls of Angoulême are a must-see attraction for visitors exploring this charming town in southwestern France. Since the 1980s, Angoulême has been transformed into an open-air gallery, offering a unique visual spectacle around every corner.
With more than thirty painted walls, Angoulême has created a unique and renowned tourist trail. These frescoes, scattered throughout the city centre and suburbs, are signed by famous comic book artists or depict comic book characters and authors. Each one tells a story inspired by comic books, literature, local history or global culture.
To discover Angoulême's painted walls, there's nothing like a stroll through the city's picturesque streets. Photography enthusiasts will find an endless source of inspiration here, while art lovers can admire the talent and creativity of local and international artists.
